Meet Our Assistant Coach Kayden Laporte-Hayes
Kayden Laporte-Hayes

Kayden, born and raised in Sarnia began her hockey journey with the Sarnia Girl’s Hockey Association contributing to 8 seasons. Kayden began playing hockey later than most kids and through determination and hard work caught up with her peers. She played AA out of town in her major bantam year, before returning home to Sarnia and ending her playing career due to multiple surgeries. She has travelled as far as Ohio State University and Stanstead College in Quebec to participate in camps throughout the summer and improve her skills.

Kayden is thrilled to be selected as an assistant coach for the U15 AA team this year and watch the program grow. She brings many years of coaching experience, under Scott Jones and other role models. This will be Kayden’s second season coaching with SGHA previously working with the U15 B team in the 2018-2019 season. She is coming to us from Mooretown Lady Flag’s Association where she progressed from assistant coach to head coach of the U13/U15 team in the last 2 years.

When Kayden is not on the ice or at the rink, she actively gives back to the community serving roles in various Mental Health initiatives and youth organizations. Most recently working as the youth representative for Talk for Tamara. She is also a CPET student at Lambton College, entering her last year of studies.

As a coach, Kayden aims to be a positive role model on and off the ice with a focus on personal growth.
