Sort Skates Start on Sunday!
Hello Parents,

As we wrap up our prep skates and transition into the sorting portion, I would just like to thank all of the players for giving their best effort on the ice during the first four skates. I hope they enjoyed the skates as much as I did watching them.

There will only be a few minor changes regarding the first sort skate tomorrow. First, we ask that you check in at the front desk just as we did with the first prep skate. From there your player will be assigned a numbered pinny. Evaluations will be done by number only, no names, to ensure a fair and unbiased evaluation of every player.  We will have a dedicated attendant who will be passing out the pinnies, the coaches will not be present as we will be preparing for evaluation. We also ask that all players return your pinny to the front desk after the skate. Based on where your player is sorted after the first skate, a new pinny will be issued for the final two sort skates. When the skate begins the players can expect to be greeted on the ice by a new set of coaches. No affiliated parents will be helping on the ice like we did with the prep skates. Just like the first four prep skates, the U9 coaches will not be on the ice either. The coaches will be participating in the evaluation process together with the other external evaluators.

We ask that the bench located closest to the score clock be left unattended and water bottle free so the coaches and evaluators may use it without distraction.

I would like to remind everyone that we have to be aware that dressing rooms have an arena attendant who needs to clean them after each ice session. So for example, if your skate is 11:15 tomorrow we cannot enter that dressing room until 10:30. If your ice time is 12:15 you cannot enter the dressing room until 11:30. If you enter the dressing room as the first player please be sure the room is clean and if it is not we ask you exit and wait for the attendant. At no point do we want an attendant to enter a dressing room to clean it and have any of our players getting dressed.

Finally, I would just like to thank you all again as well as remind you that our ultimate goal this season is to make sure each and every player is evaluated fairly. Each player will be placed on a team where we feel they will be able to grow and be successful. Regardless of where your player lands this season I can assure you they will be in the hands of a team staff that truly cares about their hockey growth and will do their very best to ensure a successful season.

See you all tomorrow,

Chris Hurst
