VERY IMPORTANT:
  • Head Coaches, Assistant Coaches, On Ice Help, Trainers and Den Moms are all required to have a current & valid Vulnerable Sector Search.  Managers & Treasurers are not required to unless they are also fulfilling an additional role above and will be present in the dressing room or on the ice with the players.
  • It is the role of the volunteer to ensure their VSS is current with either a new VSS submitted or a declaration completed via the OHF Screening Process outlined below.
  • VSS outputs take time and it's important that they are started as soon as possible - we had returns from the OPP last season taking up to 8 weeks.  Failure to have your VSS completed & screened with the OHF will delay the team from being rostered and thus delaying them from being on the ice.
  • If your local law enforcement agency requires an accompanying letter from the Association, please fill out the following link and one will be remitted no later than 7 days from submission.  Vulnerable Sector Search Support Letter (Sarnia Jr Lady Sting)
  • If you have any questions that can't be answered through the resources below, please connect with your Head Coach and/or Manager first.  If you are able to receive any answer, please email [email protected] and someone will get back to as soon as possible.

Returning Staff with 2023-2024 VSC:

What to Know for 2025–2026

Team Officials, On-Ice Officials, Third-Party Instructors, and others returning for the 2025–2026 season who had their screening approved by the OHF this past season —with a Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) from 2023 or 2024— will only need to complete the online declaration through the OHFOnline Submission Portal.

Please note: The 2024–25 declaration will expire on May 31, 2025.

Vulnerable Sector Check: Receipts

Please note that the OHF will not be accepting Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) receipts between April 1 and July 30, 2025.

As police services typically require 6–8 weeks to process VSC applications, we strongly encourage anyone needing to submit a VSC to begin the process as soon as possible.

Once you receive your completed VSC, you must submit it to through the OHFOnline Submission Portal and complete the required online declaration.
