MEETING MONDAY NOV 18 : Approx 4:15PM
The Arena Advisory Committee is making a presentation to Sarnia City Council on November 18, 2019 in support of increased capital funding for our arenas.
This funding level is in line with the 2015 Arena Management Study (AMS) recommendation that the city agreed to adopt. Per the study, the city has fallen short of their financial commitment of the required $1M per year for 10 years, for the needed $10M investment over 10 years...this funding level was identified as the minimum required amount to maintain or bring our facilities up to what was deemed a "good" level as per the AMS. If these funding levels are not meet our facilities will continue to deteriorate and this will eventually lead to equipment and major infrastructure failures that could take an arena out of commission during critical demand use.
City Hall, like all political entities, reacts to constituents concerns. Please, if you are able attend this meeting. It will help Council to recognize that this is important to the community.
