Forward Skills Development Camp July 24-28
There are 2 spots available for Derek's camp. Here are the details:

There will be a major focus on power skating, basic skill development (passing, shooting, and puck handling), and unique concepts/ideas to help these young athletes feel more confident about their individual abilities playing forward (edge work, crossover acceleration, over speed, catching passes, shooting in stride, smart shooting techniques, creating/using space in the offensive zone during entries or off a cycle).

There are still 2 spots available. Here are the details about the session that begins on July 24th:

-Because we are starting early, there are a number of ways to pay for the skills week: 1. You can give me an envelope the day of the first classroom session (please put your name on the envelope with a contact name and number so I have that information on hand), 2. You can come to the PASA arena on July 23rd between 12-2pm. OR 3. You can drop the money and contact information to my house. 206 Twin Lakes Drive, Sarnia, Ontario, N7S 4W1. If you choose to drop off/mail please put a cell number that I can use to reach someone just in case.

 - If you are writing cheques to pay for the sessions please make them out to Derek Di Muzio - the cost is 250.

- On ice sessions will run from 10-11 am daily at the PASA rink in Sarnia (Located beside Lambton College).

- There will be a classroom session. During these classroom session we will discuss the drills and concepts that we will be focusing while on the ice. The classroom session will go from 11:20 am-12:30 pm each day, and as of right now it will take place in the concourse level on rink #1. If it changes, I will send another email.

 - Pick up time will be right after the classroom session. So approximately 12:30ish.

- Please read the board to see which dressing room the girls will be dressing in. In order to avoid any issues I would ask that there are no parents allowed in the dressing rooms. If your son/daughter requires assistance with their skates/equipment, please ask them to meet you outside the dressing room. Coaches will also be available to assist with these issues, we can help them on the bench.

- Make sure that you bring a water bottle, and please check you son/daughter's equipment prior to the camp to avoid any issues that would require him/her to miss any time on the ice.

There will be a number of on ice instructors present to assist your son/daughter throughout the week. Each day we will start with power skating and edge work, and then move in to station work. The ice will be divided into 3 sections and there will be a different drill/area of focus at each station. It does not matter if there are stronger or weaker players in you son/daughter's group as when it is their turn to complete the drill they rely on pushing themselves to get better and are not dependant on others in their station for success. Daily emails and videos will be sent to you so that you can review the ideas that were discussed with your child.
If there are any concepts and/or ideas that you want us to work on during this week, please let me know. There are 2 spots available, so if your son/daughter has any friends that might be interested please pass this information on and have them contact me. Also, if you have any further questions, please email me or call/text me at 519-330-0877.
Thanks,

Coach Derek
