Thurs May 25th Team Update Parent / Coaches Meeting Info.
First, we'd like to say how excited all of the Coaches and Trainers are about our team. We're really looking forward to great fun, great accomplishments and great memories that will last a lifetime. We look at this group as a team that will never quit and a team that will support each other at all times.
We're working on a date and location for the Parent / Coaches meeting. We expect it to be held on an evening during the week of June 6-10th at a location yet to be determined. We'll update you next week with a firm time and date.
The coaches have been to the Travel Coaches meeting. We'll have a summary handout for you at the Parent / Coaches meeting. Our team will be getting the new style jerseys and socks made out of the lightweight material with sublimated graphics. They are to be returned at the end of the season so we don't get to choose our numbers like the boys teams were able to (they pay extra in their fees for the shirts).
Things look to be much the same as in the past with Cash Calendars and Flex Packs as part of the package. We'll review the team budget, ice fees, payment schedule, tournaments we're looking at, fundraising, social media policy, concussion policy etc. If you have anything you'd like specifically addressed please let John or I know in advance so that we can address it with as much information as possible at the meeting.
We'd like to have our roster approved by Sarnia Girls Hockey as quickly as possible so that we can enter the tournaments of our choice before the clean, affordable hotels are booked. We'll be asking you to register your daughter as soon as possible. Registration is now open and there is an early bird discount of $100 ($870 instead of $970 with a payment plan spread out over Aug 1st / Sept 1st / Oct 1st) for anyone that gets their form sent in before July 1st. We'll have registration forms available at the Parent / Coaches meeting.
Finally, I'll be collecting your cell #'s and service providers so I can get you registered to the team website. You'll be notified of any updates to the website by text when they occur and we'll send out game day texts confirming the time and address of the arena that we're playing at when we're playing away games.
